Description

Region: Kirinyaga
Cooperative:
Baragwi

Kariru Washing Station, part of the Baragwi Cooperative, is home to 1,800 farmers producing 1,700 60kg bags annually. The washing station is named after a cooperative member who was renowned for his contributions to the community; we are proud to name this coffee after him, as well as the coffee factory (washing station) it hails from.

For our third Roasters' Select, we chose three bags from this remarkable lot: the first representing the farmers' dedication to quality, the second their commitment to sustainability & the final a nod to our first female roaster, Sharon Andebe.

Sharon joined Spring Valley Coffee in 2019 as a cook, self-taught herself in to a roasting assistant in 2022, and in 2024 is a roaster. She roasted this incredible coffee which results in a balance of sweetness, brightness & body.
